Brand management

On Thursday 13 of February, I went to the training session of Noemie, members of the Sekoitus team. The topics of the training was the Brand management. 

The brand management is the process of managing the brand reputation and improving the perception about it to the public. 

First she explained to us what is the benefits of the brand management like boost your brands awareness or build customer loyalty.

And what is the functions of brand management like create the brand's purpose, define the competitive advantage, promise, atributes... 

We learnt why the brand management is important : We know that people trust more in brand than in product itself. So manage our brand is crucial. 

In brand management there are tangible components like brand name, logo, graphics, packaging.... And Intangible components like brand awareness, brand equity, reputation, reputation. So lots of different things very interesting. 

The second part of the training was about positioning of the brands. The first task was to create a positioningmap.

With my groupe we choose IKEA and we described quikly how is the positioning of ikea : 

trendy and cheap furnitures. 

After this task we learned different brand strategies and their pros&cons :

  • The unique brand: same brand for all the product 

  • The multi-brand: Independent brand for each product, as a segmentation strategy. 

  • The licensing 

  • The new brand

  • The co - branding

  • Re- branding and re-positioning. 

The last task of the training was to choose one brand strategy and explain the pros and cons fo each one. 

With our group we choose the new brand : the advantages were : attract curious people, trending, old customers, brand is well known, markets are ready... 

After we finnished with a Kahoot.

In conclusion this training was very interesting in due of the topics and all the task. It remind me some courses that I had in france last years so it's was cool.
