As part of her study project, Satsuki had to make a Japanese lecture.

So during 3 hours on the 23th of October, she spook about her country : the Japan.

As a first step I will sum-up her presentation and light up the important facts.

And as a second step I will give my opinion about

She start her presentation some basic informations about Japan. I learned at this moment that there are about 126 million people and only 377,97 km2.  So it's very small country with lots of people. The density is high.

After she explained advanced informations about Japan. She talked about the history of Japan, On 1639 The japan was banned to trade with any foreign country except China and Netherland. Futhermore she spooked about the SNS situation of japan it was very interesting to know more about a new app to talk with friends. They use LINE, is similar to whatapp and mostly used in Asian countries such as south korea or Indonesia.

She showed us how line works. There are lots of smiley more original and funny very expressive , you can express what we want to say but with a funny way.

The named of these smiley is Stanps, smiley , in Japan they bought package of smiley to have singular way to text.

But they use tweeter, instagram , facebook like in our country.

After we had speak about the weather in Japan and most particularly in the home country Satsuki. She live at the center of the island so the climate is pretty cool not too cold not too warm.

The third part of her presentation was "Areas and sightseeing spots of Japan"

She showed us several sightseeing spots and areas where she has already been like Kanto. This region seemed very pretty to me because she showed pictures of beautiful monuments and beautiful mountain views.

She presented to us other regions like Hikoku, Kanto, Kyushu, Okina. From pictures we looked we saw that japan is very diversified, there are at the same time beautiful sightseeing with mountain and sea.

The fifth part of her presentation was about Japonese culture

The topic was the japanese language and letter. Japanese is so different from English or other European language. Japanese have no idea of « V » and « I » It’s pretty difficult to distinguish the pronunciation of v, b,l,r.

Futhermore, the order of the world is totally different.

For exemple :

English: we are studying in Turku

Japan: we in turku are studying

Concerning the japanese letters, they use 3 types of letters : hiragana, kanji and Katakana. A usual, kanji, katakana when we want to express something like foreign words.

After she explained the story of the japanese name. Most japanese was named from various things. For exemple they use the kanji letter from their parents having , wish their goof growth or to be good person. For exemple

Satsuki mean may in Japan in old language , she explained that is name is original and "unique" because it’s old. But it’s difficult to write her name at school, all the time we had to write it by herself.

After that we saw a video where a guy joked about the japanese named , they said they are too long. This guy explained a famous story. It's the story of Jegemu : the parents want to name good meaning for their baby so they ask many people « what do you think is the good name for my baby ? Finally they put live longer, (jugemu), no worries for food and the place for speed (kunerutokoro) , but they had too many candidates so they couldn't choose and they put all the name. It was funny.

The sixth part of her presentation was about her home prefecture. The name is "Miyagi", it is located on the northern japan, there are 2.3 million of people. The most popular city abroad is Sendai. The famous festival in Miyagi Tanabata matsuri. Satsuki really liked her city is comfortable to live, not so much people like in Tokyo but near then it (less then 2 hours in bullet train) and it's not too cold or hot.

The last part of her presentation was about the east Japan earth attack in 2011 with a magnitude of 9.0. We can sow a video who show the sad image of this event... The numbers of this earth attack were 15 thousand dead people and 2.5 thousand missing people. Satsuki explained to us that she was 12 years old and this earth attack was just few weeks before her graduation ceremony from the elementary school.  After this tragic event, she has lived in her Grandmother's house and they couldn't use electricity and water supply about 2 weeks.

So now I will going to speak about my opinion about this Japanese lecture.

First I would like to thank Satsuki for this great presentation, I learned lots of things about this topic. I was really satisfied to know more about Japanese fact, culture, letter or areas and regions. We work next to satsuki all the day but we never know really where we came from so now we feel more close to her and able to understand
his life.

More particularly, when you study business it's very important to know the culture, habits, regions of the people with who you work, in our erasmus team this is clearly the case.

When satuski showed the different regions in japan. It really motivated me to visit japan. It is a very diverse country, rich in landscapes and full of history.

To conclude on my opinion regarding the substance of his presentation, I was really moved by her story, what she experienced was very sad and difficult especially for a little girl of her age she had to be in misunderstanding. Moreover, it was very rewarding to have the testimony of someone who really experienced this catastrophe.

I will now finish with my point of view on this lecture: It was very dynamic, stimulating. I found that she managed her time well, prepared her work well, made good slide. I really appreciate this moment.

But now the problem is that I want to know more about Japan ...
