Import FrenchTACOS

For the import export session, the first thing I had chosen to import to France in FINLAND is the French Tacos. So I share with you here my presentation about this product behind the group and this is my powerpoint presentation :
"Today I want to speak with you about a product that I want to import in Finland,
Description :
It’s a type of junk food it come from French. The name is « tacos » but people call it french tacos or tacos of lyon.
This speciality come from lyon. The inventor of this is kebabistan guy, in 2004 the idea came to him to invent the French version of the Mexican tacos.
So the recipe in very simple :
_ a wrap
_ meat you can put 3 different one chicken, beef , tenders like they are different size : M,L,XL, XXL
_ spécial sauce call « cheese sauce »

Compare market place French and Finland :
Its pretty the same : Mexican food , kebab pizza subway burger king macro but in french they are more choose it’s better diversify like Indian food and tacos but in Finland they have hesbuger
It’s pretty like the same things : the offer and the demand are almost the same
Why I think it can be work :

not a lot of choose of junk food : juste kebab and pizza it can be diversify

Culture of fast food very develop lot of fast food so they love eat that

It already work in Usa : they open « tacos avenue «

In French in very good French people are in love

The way to French food they love we can play with our reputation of food : good we can play with the positioning made in France

The target is the student because cheep, fast and fat
If we speak about prices :
In france : oen meet in 6 euro
The menue is 8 euro
So I think we can sell it to 7-8 euro in Finland because the cost of the product is the higher then in France.
The menue can be it at 10 euro to start because it can be something new and attractive and French speciality
If we speak about the sellers :
If we speak about the company who sell tacos this most part of independent restaurant but they are some chains like Otacos , tacos avenues. Maybe O’tacos can open restaurant in Findland
O tacos can be the perfect brand because they are already open in international market : they opened one restaurant in marroco , Belgium and USA.
Now try to contact O tacos and know more about the rules of importing company in Finland"
After this presentation I tried to contact them but It was a fail. Because It's very difficult to import a franchise because to open a franchise you have to proved that you have a certain amount in your bank account so unfortunatly I stop my work here.
I show you here what I say at the import export session.
"Now I had to contact them, so I was going on their website to find a way to contact them but I just found a questionnaire for the franchise and for the people who want to open a franchise O’tacos.
So I complete the questionnaire, I said I was a student, and I would like to open a franchise in Finland and more especially in Turku. And I sent to them, now I’m waiting their answer.
I think it can be a good idea to open a franchise O’tacos in Finland because thank to that we have already the image of the brand, their promotion, their product, the know-how, prices, system, all is already ready to sell.
In contrast, if we want to import only the tacos in some restaurant in Finland it can become more complicated because we have to contact many fast-food or restaurant and explain them our concept of sandwich.
If o’tacos never answer to me I will ask to other brand of French tacos : like tacos avenue, champs tacos, tacos de Lyon.
But Stop now because it’s to Difficult to import a franchise because I have to show that I have money and it’s difficult it’s more easy to import product and not franchise"

The problems encountered:
-It has been difficult to identify the food needs of Finnish students: what he likes and dislikes
-To have a clear idea of the fast food market in Finland
-it is necessary to mobilize a large budget to open a franchise
-When you contact a franchise there are just online questionnaires and no email address so you are limited.
But I found this first product search interesting even if it was short. It's all new to me this business side. You have to find the right opportunities and dare to take them.
