PUFF concept stores

I decided to export in France something special about Finnish design. I wanted to export a concept store in which they sell designed product with Finnish design. So I thought about PUFF: a concept stores in Turku. This idea can be really interesting because in paris they are lots of concept stores where they sell little creation of designer, it can bring an international approach. I decided to present my idea to the import export session.

PART 1 : EXPLAIN MY PROJECT 

 

What is PUFF ? 

 

PUF is an award-winning Finnish design and fashion concept store in the heart of Turku. Showcasing more than fifty different designers from all over Finland.

 

" Home to Finnish design brands by nature. Playground for the curious."

PUF is a year-round home for Finnish design. Under the same roof are the monthly change factors that represent both internationally renowned brands and emerging names.

Since 2015

More than a shop 

From the very beginning, the award-winning PUF store concept has become more than just a sales-oriented store. The space next to Turku's main library is open to all citizens through various events. For example, they have organized collection outings, concerts, cooperative events and the popular block flea market.

They are open to any kind of cooperative proposals that bring people together. If you have a crazy idea, they want to hear from you first

 

How do they do it?

They are 3 main point 

 

SENSE OF COMMUNITY

Their motto is 

"If you want to go fast, walk alone. If you want to go far, walk with others." 

PUF is a channel where new designers and customers meet. A place that welcomes all the curious.

 

RESPONSIBILITY

 Many of the brands we represent are pioneers in responsible consumption in terms of production, material selection and design philosophy.

 

TURNOVER

PUF welcomes new contributors every month. The selection of more than 50 brands is renewed every month, allowing as many factors as possible to appear.

 

WHY IMPORT IT IN FRANCE :

 

  • Very interesting and unique it can really work in France people can really love it.

HOW TO IMPORT ? 

 

Import real shop in area of design shop in France or just like in Swedish a pop up stores ephemeral : 

Or represent the brand during design market in France …

Or puff stores : 

 

Contact PUF turku and know if there already import their brands abroad , if not propose them a new market 

 

DIFFICULTIES : 

Less responsible to import finish brands in France because it’s far away and the travel is not ecological

And the cost of the importation of all the brand we have to know if the market can become profitable for the brands. 

Only one shop in Finland maybe not open to export because Finnish design with local designers

PART 2 :  PREPARATION OF THE EXPORTATION IN FRANCE

Before undertaking this export of PUFF products to France :

It seems essential to me to have a good understanding of how it works and what are the difficulties and procedures involved in exporting PUFF products. This will allow me to be able to propose a well organized and clear project to them. 

First of all, what are the essential things to know when exporting to Europe? 


-These are referred to as Import Acquisitions and Export Shipments. 

-Find out about customs formalities and preferential agreements between countries if there are any: customs duties, documents required for the transaction, etc.

To trade with one or more of these countries you need an Intra-Community VAT Number.

-Choosing the most suitable means of transport in terms of time and cost: accompanied luggage, sea transport, air transport, etc.

-Know the Risks of breakage, loss, delay, theft, etc. : I make sure that the transported goods are well insured. Please note that in case of a problem, the responsibility of the carriers is very low, and possible refunds from them are limited.

-Know the countries I want to do business with: will the products I buy abroad be sold in France? Or conversely, will foreign products be sold there?

What export strategy do I propose to PUFF? 

1: Analyzing the French market: preference, taste, trend 

 

2: choose in the products which could please to the French the best selection of products : 10 products in vogue at the moment 

3: Contact French concept stores in Paris and ask them for a small space in their store to display this product selection and see if the public is receptive: send product in a small box. 

 

In which Parisian concept stores did you import this selection? 

Several concept stores in Paris very competitive market so import foreign product can be interesting and a compétitives advantages ! 

MYLO:

A brand new trendy concept store 

Created by Héloïse and Camille, Mylo is a new boutique with a feminine, colourful and warm atmosphere located in the heart of Batignolles. 

There is food, fashion, beauty, art and music, universes that are particularly dear to the two trend-setting entrepreneurs!

Cozy, refined, modern style 

Strolling from one space to another, you will find jewellery and accessories, shoes, clothes, leather goods, photographs, paintings, decoration etc. accessible to all budgets.

 

BABEL CONCEPT STORE

Babel concept store is a melting pot of designers. Clothes, accessories, decoration, there is something for everyone!

 

Babel concept store brings together many designers and differentiates itself by its eclectic and quality products.

We appreciate the diversity of materials and colors of the pieces littering the wearers.

LES BOUDEUSES : 

 

There is interior decoration, a delicatessen corner, a selection of clothes and jewellery designers and shoe artists. 

 

PAPERDOLLS: 

Paperdolls is a concept store dedicated to coquettish women in search of originality. Installed at the entrance of the village Montmartre. The store offers a selection of designer clothes in a poetic and warm setting.
